The aging combined with the robust character of the Imperial Stout make for an extraordinary and wonderful taste experience. It has a strong roasted malt character and a full body. Extra Special Bitter from Tugboat Brewing
Extra Special Bitter
This delightful copper-colored ale is spawned by the smart inclusion of a variety of specialty English malts, and a very generous portion of Cascade hops. Our thirst quenching E.S.B. has been compared favorably alongside the very best E.S.B.'s in the world. We dry hop this sweet, and spicy hopped ale in the keg, like we do most of our ales, to give you another delicious dimension to taste: a floral smell. Our approach is that brewing is more art than science. If this ale was a person, he would sport a beret, read Chomski, and smoke cloves.
Fabek's Fabled Rye from Laurelwood Public House
Pale Ale
We used a bunch of our favorite hops late in the boil for a hoppy but not-too-bitter IPA. A dose of rye malt in the mash gives Fabik's a unique dry quality. As for the fable- it starts like this: Fabik- the formidable female fabricator fixed the fallen front. For this feat, she found fame in fermentation. From far flung, fans flocked for a fateful and fortifying fandangle of fantastic fresh flavor without the frill frippery.

Fallen Friar from Bridgeport Brewing

The Fallen Friar 22-ounce Big Brew combines German pilsner malt and Pacific Northwest wheat malt with German Hallertau and Czech Saaz hops. Fresh Hop Kolsch from Laurelwood Public House
Kolsch
This year we traveled to Mt. Angel and visited Annen Bros. Hop Farms. The farm was in the midst of harvesting Tettnanger hops. That morning, we brought back over 40 pounds of freshly-dried and wet hops. Upon arriving at the brewery we began the brew that is Fresh Hop Kolsch. During the 90 minute boil fresh hops were added every 15 minutes. An additional 11 pounds of wet hops were used in the hop back. This beer is our celebration of the year's hop harvest.

Fresh Nugs from Laurelwood Public House
Seasonal
Another great reason to live in the Northwest, harvest time! Using the Nugget hop, this beer is hoppy, start to finish! This unorthodox brew starts with hops in the mash- a place usually reserved only for grain. Next, we added hops to the kettle as it filled- before even beginning a boil. After the boils, we filled our mashtun with nearly 100 lbs of fresh hops, using it as a giant hop back. This is a true example of a fresh hop beer using only freshly picked hops throughout this beer.

Indeed- another insanely hoppy beer from the friendly brewers at Laurelwood. Some folks say "Beer doesn't need to have this much flavor"- "Or massive quantities of hops aren't really necessary to make a beer good." To that we say "Phooey." Necessary? Are chrome wheels necessary? What about high heels? Do we really need cable TV or motorcycles worth more than some people's homes? Nope- but it sure is fun. India Pale Ale
Most micro-breweries make an I.P.A. and for a good reason, they're really good. "I.P.A." is an ale that was designed to withstand the slow boat from England to colonial India, at the request of the thirsty British Military. The sailors discovered that an ale had to be alcohol and hop rich to survive the long, unrefrigerated journey. What you have at the end of that trip, and at the Tugboat Brewing Company, is a big-bodied, dirty blond, hoppy ale that makes you say "zoinks" at the first sip, and "another please" at the last.

O'Seamonus from Laurelwood Public House
Irish Stout
This creamy black ale was brewed in honor of St. Patrick's day. We followed the recipe sent forth by a spector seen during our rigorous preparation for the brewing of this beer- which included consuming any canned Irish beer that rattled with widgets. The apparition told us to use the finest two-row malt and a special blend of both flaked and roasted barley. The ale was to be hopped with Fuggles and saturated with soothing bubbles of nitrogen. We believed the visitor to be none other than St. Patrick himself but later realized there was just carbon dioxide leak in the brewery.

Instead, the day before the beer is tapped, the brewery will hang a sign that says, "Sticke- Tomorrow." Once the beer is tapped the sign changes to "Sticke- Today." Sticke is a stonger version of Altbier- try our Amber to compare. Our brew is reddish brown with pronounced bread-like flavors. Not overly malty- this beer is balanced by a hefty dose of hops.
