Don’t worry, we’re still here. We’ve been a little slow on updates lately due to some website issues. Every day, new people come to the site, and they keep coming back. Over the last year, our content offering has expanded exponentially: beer lists, beer news, beer photography, beer tools, etc. Our site framework, however, has not. So, we’re cramming a lot of stuff wherever we can find room. This has driven some content into odd, hard to find places.
So rather than squeezing more and more into the current site, we’re stripping it down, and rebuilding it from the ground up. With increased traffic and content, our two main goals are ease of use and faster page load time. Hopefully we’ll get all of the kinks worked out this weekend and roll out the new site this weekend.

New layout looks real clean.
Here’s my dickhead constructive criticism that you never solicited:
•The only option to click through to the new blog posts is by clicking “Read More.” Make the headine or topic photo clickable through.
•While the new layout is super clean, I’m missing the sense of “Matt-ness” that made the old site so lovable. I miss the abundance of your photography on the front page; the stuff that made this more than just another blog/beer site. Maybe find a widget that you can stick on the sidebar that loads a new photo every time? Maybe the top/title bar? Something to keep that Wiater personality.
•I just showed some of your photos to the guys at Siebel and now they all have huge beer boners. Just thought I’d let you know.
Zak, your opinion is always welcome here! Unless, you’ve got something terrible to say…
You’re right about the blog post title links, I’ll fix that in a few minutes.
As for the “Matt-ness”, it was a difficult decision. The first stage of the redesign is to get the content front and center and get it to load quickly. But, photography is part of that content, so I’ll see what I can do about creating a quick loading photo widget-thingy-majigy.
Thanks for the input! Oh, and I’m happy to be a great source of beer pr0n…
