Block 15 Brewing, Corvallis, OR

Sometimes an event announcement comes out and I want to keep it all to myself.  It literally hurts me to post it.  The fact is, the more of you that show up, the less beer I get.  It's simple math.

This Friday at Beermongers is no exception.  Nick Arzner from Block 15 Brewing in Corvallis is coming up to Portland with several cases of his latest bottle creation: La Ferme de la Ville.  Last year, I had the great fortune to be in Corvallis when this was on tap at the brewery.  It was instantly one of my favorite beers of the year.  You can read about this year's bottled version in the Brewer's Brain section of Block 15's website.

This Friday, from 5-8PM, The BeerMongers will be hosting Nick Arzner of Block 15 for the official Portland release of their latest bottling. La Ferme de la Ville Provision is a blend of young and old farmhouse ales aged in Pinot Noir barrels with brettanomyces, set to mimic the early farmhouse ales which we're open air fermented, allowing various microbes into the beer.  We'll have nine cases total available, with a two per person limit.

We're also going to tap the following beers from Block 15's cellar and core lineup:

  • 2010 Demon's Farm - Black Saison aged in Pinot, Oregon Oak and Bourbon barrels, with Oregon Tart Cherries and various microbes. 2010 People's Choice at Portland Cheers to Belgian beers, this will also be their next bottle release
