Monster Mash Release Media Preview
Lompoc Sidebar Friday, Sept. 30th 4pm-11pm 3901A N Williams Ave Portland, Oregon

This Friday at the New Old Lompoc Sidebar, plenty of amazing beers will be pouring. Of course, the headliner is Monster Mash Imperial Porter which will be pouring on draft and available in bottles. Weighing in a 8.1% ABV, the beer is not one of those boozy, overpowering imperial style beers. Instead, the focus of this beer is the balance of all of the elements: chocolate sweetness, roasted grains, and just enough hop bitterness to anchor the malts. This is a great beer. In fact, I liked so much that I saved a couple of bottles from last year (including one of the bourbon-barrel bottles).

Lompoc's newest addition: Irena Bierzynski

Monster Mash alone would be enough of a celebration, but on Friday, you'll also get to try a few more great beers, including some vintage barrel-aged specialties. Irena Bierzynski's first commercial beer, Bierz Brown, will also be making an appearance.

You'll kick yourself if you miss this event. In fact, I might kick you as well. Check out some of the official details on the beers available tomorrow night:

"We’ll also be serving Flamingo, our Condor Pale fermented in Bourbon barrels with 35 pounds of sour cherries; 2008 Mon Cheri, a Belgian style golden ale brewed in January 2008 that features a mild fruitiness and a complex spicy character; Bierz Brown, a malty bodied brown ale with strong chocolate and roast flavors; Steaming California, a steam beer brewed with an American Pilsner yeast strain fermented at ale temperatures, giving it a slight bitterness with a balanced body; and for the hopheads, our C-Note Imperial Pale Ale, a beer brewed with the seven "C" hops (Crystal, Cluster, Cascade, Chinook, Centennial, Columbus, and Challenger), pushing the limit to 100 International Bitterness Units."
