I just checked the stats and noticed this amazing number: 503,329!

Photos in the Portlandbeer.org Flickr account have been viewed over 500,000 times! Inside my mind, I'm breakdancing like the guy in the photo above from this year's BiKETOBEERFEST. Outside my mind, everything is normal: just me sitting at a computer, eating baby carrot sticks, typing away and doing as few one-handed handstands as possible.

I've been covering the Portland Beer scene with my camera for the last few years: beer events, beer releases, festivals, brewery profiles, and other Portland beer oddities. Since the site costs me more to run than I make from it, I certainly don't do this for the money. Documenting the Portland beer scene is a labor of love for me. It's a lot of work, a lot of play, and a lot of amazing times shared over great beer.

I'm not gonna lie: 500,000 is a big, abstract, and satisfying number to see! I certainly hope to write a very similar post to this one a few years from now, celebrating 1,000,000 and wondering: if I only had a dollar for very view...
