October on the Brewvana Bus
October, as every month in Portland, is full of beer. You're gonna drink it, but sometimes you want something different. When the words "CLOSED TOE SHOES REQUIRED ON THIS TOUR" appear on the tour description, you know you're going to get a great look at the inner workings of a brewery. On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, you can relax and let the Brewvana team cart you around from beer to beer. They'll do almost everything but raise the glass to your thirsty, thirsty lips. Check out the details on their different tours:
Behind The Scenes Tours - $75
Friday afternoons 1:00 - 5:00 pm (October 12, 19 & 26) If you think behind the scenes action, meeting the brewers and seeing where the magic happens is super fun, this tour is for you! Our Behind the Scenes Tour visits four breweries. We begin at Buckman Village, a small brewery that shares space with a nano brewery located inside a SE pub that features 49 rotating taps. After sampling beers there, we then head to Widmer, Portland’s largest brewery for an explanation of the brewing process and a tour of their facility. After tasting more beers, we head to Laurelwood, Oregon’s first certified organic brewery to enjoy lunch, more beer sampling and a walk through of their brewery. Our last stop is Upright, a production brewery with a casual tasting room at a brewery that specializes in farmhouse ales with a pacific NW twist. Tour is all-inclusive of beer, food, souvenir Brewvana Pilsner glass and safe and fun transportation all over town. Tours are 21+ with valid ID required. CLOSED TOE SHOES REQUIRED ON THIS TOUR.
Saturday Imbibing Tours - $75
Saturday afternoons 12:00 - 4:00 pm (October 13, 20 & 27) Our Saturday Imbibing tour is a good mix of learning about beer and the brewing process and having a great time. The tour visits four different Portland breweries, but we only get one, very detailed tour of the brewing facility led by a brewer. Our first spot is Coalition, a small 10 barrel brewery in the inner SE where we taste their handcrafted, highly drinkable beers that reflect traditional brewing techniques and NW innovation. We then head to Hopworks Urban Brewery (HUB), Portland’s first eco-brewpub that offers handcrafted organic beers in a sustainably built and operating building. We get a full brewery tour with an in depth description of the brewing process as we sample beers. For lunch, we travel north to Breakside Brewery, a small 3 barrel brewery where we sample their vast selection of beers and dine in the restaurant. Our last stop is Lompoc’s Side Bar, a special tasting room that features a variety of barrel aged and seasonal beers that are only available in the tasting room where we hang out and play trivia. Tour is all-inclusive of beer, food, souvenir Brewvana Pilsner glass and safe and fun transportation all over town. Tours are 21+ with valid ID required.
Sunday FUNday Tours - $60
Sunday afternoons 2:00 - 5:00 pm (October 14, 21 & 28) We begin at Gigantic Brewing a very small 15 barrel brewery in the inner SE that is stubbornly small in size but gigantic in heart and passion for craft beer. We then head to Bridgeport, Oregon’s oldest craft brewery and one of the top specialty brewers in the state of Oregon. After snacking on some food and sampling fresh beer, we head to the Mississippi neighborhood’s favorite gathering spot, Amnesia Brewery, where they brew quality beer in a converted warehouse with an outdoor patio. We sit outside and enjoy the scene as we drink some delicious NW inspired brews. Tour is all-inclusive of beer, food, souvenir Brewvana Pilsner glass and safe and fun transportation all over town. Tours are 21+ with valid ID required.
