War Elephant Double IPA from Columbia River Brewing weighs in at 8.5% ABV, making it a "lighter" alternative to some of the 10 percent monsters out there. This means that the beer can still be somewhat delicate since it doesn't have to pull off a crazy balancing with a full ton of malt and hops that can make some beers of this style fall apart. This double IPA lands on the bitter side of the malt and hops balance, but with plenty of grain to give it a medium body. This beer is available in 22 ounce bottles and on draft. Both versions are great, but a freshly brewed batch on tap at the brewery is even better!
