Nestled way up by the St. John's Bridge, Occidental Brewing Company is quietly pumping out some great beers. Occidental's focus is on "continental" beers. Rather than the big, bold, boozy American styles, they are focusing on traditional German style beers like Bavarian-style Hefeweizen, Kölsch, Altbier, and Dunkel. Der Rheinlander's Oktoberfest Starts Tonight

Starting tonight, Der Rheinlander and Gustav's Bier Stube are throwing thei annual Oktoberfest. Unlike some of the breweries around town that have pitched their own versions, this one is a bit more traditional in the sense that they are featuring actual German beers. Beers including Paulaner Oktoberfest-Märzen, Hofbräu Oktoberfestbier, and Spaten Oktoberfestbier Ur-Märzen imported from Germany will be available.
