Fermented Photo: Deschutes Brewery Street Fare
Normally, it's easy to look our Fermented Photo feature and say 'Yep, that's a beer.' This week, it's bit more cerebral. Nope, no beer in the photo. In fact, if this photo weren't on a beer site, you'd be saying to yourself, "That's a pretty girl doing some pretty music." Or something similar, and probably even a bit more poetic.
But this is a beer site. So I can guarantee that I had a beer in one hand while taking this photo. If my notes are correct—and they usually aren't—I was sipping on a Deschutes Brewery Hop in the Dark. Sure, holding a beer and a camera is a dangerous proposition, but at the Deschutes Brewery Street Fare, double-duty is expected. I might be mixing beer and photography (and simultaneously writing it off on my taxes), but most people are out for a leisure night with a beer in one hand, and something from a delicious food cart in another.
Oh, and it's all while listening to some unique, and distinctly Portland, music. In the case above, Lost Lander. During the evening, we were also treated to Hillstomp, Old Light, and The Builders and the Butchers.
So, if you're looking at the photo above and trying to devise a way to build a time machine, well, that's a lofty goal. Best of luck. If you're a bit more realistic, you're gonna have to wait until next year. But it will be worth it.
