Southern Oregon Brewing's Old Humbug Winter Warmer. Bell's Expedition Stout. Laurelwood's Auld Battle Axe. This year, for their limited addition 1 Liter swing-top release, Laurelwood brings us a Scotch-style ale.  This is a style that's not seen too often around Portland.  Big on malt, high in alcohol, and very low on bitterness, this falls way outside of the comfort zone of many a PDX hop head.  But during these last few bitter cold days, this beer really hits the spot--warming you up from the inside... Laurelwood's Moose and Squirrel Russian Imperial Stout. I wasn't able to hold onto these bottles as long as I had hoped. They "disappeared" rather quickly. If you see it, drink it! A little bit of this beer made it's way into bourbon barrels and then served on cask at the Pizza location--unannounced and quite a delicious surprise! Read More »

Fresh Nugget hops. Laurelwood brewer Paul Bergeman drove into Portland this morning with a truck full of fresh hops. These Nugget hops are from a hop farm in Hubbard, OR, and will be used in Laurelwood's second fresh hop release: Fresh Nugs Ale.
